STARECROW

An OSINT intelligence workbench that treats every fact like a courtroom exhibit.

Most OSINT tools are either link-launchers that hand you a wall of buttons, or graph platforms that expect you to already have the data and the discipline. Starecrow is the middle path: a case-building workbench where every module feeds a shared case file, every AI claim is forced through a fact-check preamble, and every lead carries a source URL and a confidence tier before it reaches your eyes.

HOW & WHY IT'S DIFFERENT

Guardrail-first AI

Every AI module runs through FACT_CHECK_PREAMBLE — a mandatory protocol that forbids fabricated quotes, dates and URLs, splits findings into CONFIRMED / INFERRED / SPECULATIVE, and demands a real source for every claim. The model cites or it concedes; it cannot grandstand.

Evidence, not vibes

The Cross-Reference Engine auto-extracts identifiers (emails, phones, handles, domains) across every case entry and links them. The Fusion Dossier synthesizes module signals into confidence-scored facts with per-fact provenance and PDF export.

Cached-page depth others skip

The Adult / Dating / Cam Exposure Matrix sweeps ~150 sites across 9 categories with three vectors each — Google site-dork, Wayback CDX archived-URL query, archive.ph — plus profile-guess + Wayback lookups. Results pass through the same guardrail before they reach you.

Zero-key live intelligence

23 inline tools hit real public APIs (GitHub, Reddit, Shodan, crt.sh, Wayback, OTX, Wikidata, breach DBs) with no API keys. Results stream live in-browser the moment you scan.

Terminal-native UX

Retro CRT aesthetic, swipe-to-launch module gating, pull-to-refresh, mobile tab bar. Built to feel like an instrument, not a dashboard.

THE LAYOUT

Dashboard — a module launcher (dropdown + swipe-to-enter slider), active case list, critical-priority alerts, and a live system log. The launcher gates every module behind an intentional gesture so you never fire a scan by accident.

11 investigation modules — each a self-contained workbench. Every finding can be saved to a shared CaseFile, so modules are additive rather than isolated:

▸ Entity Profiler

Person / org / handle / email / domain dossiers with live zero-key APIs

▸ Domain Recon

WHOIS, DNS, cert-transparency, subdomain & threat-pulse enumeration

▸ Social Footprint

Cross-platform username probing + variant + dork generation

▸ Geo Intel

Geocoding, satellite launcher, geotag & webcam strategies

▸ Link Analyzer

URL decomposition, URLhaus + Wayback threat intel

▸ Metadata Extractor

EXIF / XMP / ICC forensics with auto reverse-geocode

▸ Network Mapper

Relationship graphing with per-edge proof notes

▸ Behavioral Timeline

Timeline reconstruction, heatmap & timezone inference

▸ Phone OSINT

60+ country parsing, carrier/SMS-gateway, 27-source CNAM, dark-web dorks

▸ Deep Web Scanner

Cached-index + breach evidence trails with severity & verification

▸ OSINT Toolkit

23 inline live APIs + 60-entry curated external arsenal

Cross-Reference Engine scans all case entries for shared identifiers and links them. The Fusion Dossier aggregates module outputs into a confidence-scored report with per-fact provenance and PDF export. Supporting layers — case management, proxy config, API-key vault, settings — sit underneath.

WHAT MAKES IT UNIQUE

The combination, not any single feature: a guardrail-first AI posture, a case-file spine that makes modules additive, cached-page reach into adult/dating/cam archives that mainstream tools ignore, and a zero-key live-API layer that works out of the box. No single competitor does all four — most do one.

WHAT IT CAN REALISTICALLY COMPETE WITH

BEATS
  • Button-wall link directories (OSINT Framework, WebBreacher) — Starecrow runs live APIs and builds a case, not just a bookmark list.
  • Single-vector username tools (Sherlock, Maigret) — broader footprint, cross-reference, and fact-checked synthesis.
  • Any tool that presents AI output without source attribution — every Starecrow finding carries a source URL and tier.
HOLDS ITS OWN
  • Light graph tools (Maltego Community, Linkurious starter) for relationship mapping — with stronger proof notes and a case spine.
  • Spiderfoot for automated footprinting — comparable reach, stricter fact-checking, case-file persistence.
NOT YET
  • Commercial suites (Skopenow, Lampyre, Maltego Pro/Enterprise) on scale, team collaboration, paid data feeds, court-ready templates, enterprise SSO.
  • Those are the honest gaps — Starecrow is a solo-operator workbench today, not an enterprise platform.

HONEST LIMITATIONS

  • ▸ No paid data-broker feeds — relies on free/public sources and operator-launched external tools.
  • ▸ No team / multi-user case collaboration yet — it's a solo-operator workbench.
  • ▸ Responsive web only, no native mobile app (publishes to iOS/Android from the same code).
  • ▸ AI can't fetch live search results, so cached-matrix analysis is advisory — every vector links to a real source you verify yourself.
